Fake News? Trump Considered Dumping ‘Liberal’ Gorsuch Over Loyalty Fears: Report

President Donald Trump ranted about potentially rescinding Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court nomination over fears that Gorsuch would not be “loyal” to him, The Washington Post reports. Eleven people familiar with the matter said Trump believed Gorsuch was ungrateful for the nomination. (Gorsuch sent Trump a handwritten thank-you note, which was reportedly delayed in reaching Trump.)

Trump also reportedly mused aloud about rescinding Gorsuch’s nomination, after Gorsuch criticized Trump’s Twitter attacks on federal judges. In private Senate hearings, which were later described to the press, Gorsuch reportedly described Trump’s attacks on judges as “disheartening” and “demoralizing”. The confession reportedly led Trump to question Gorsuch’s loyalty to him and to remark to a room of fellow Republicans that Gorsuch was “probably going to end up being a liberal like the rest of them.” The White House has denied that Trump ever considered rescinding Gorsuch’s nomination. Read more at THE WASHINGTON POST.

  1. Yup. Gorsuch. Tillerson. Sessions. Haley. All that’s good about this president- his cabinet and Supreme Court, yet he can’t get along with any of them. This guy was picked by less than 25% of the country, yet now we’re all stuck with him.

    • Unlike Hillary who got picked by 25.1% of the country, including the dead, the illegals and the multiple Chicago voters. All this cheating for naught. Aren’t you just furious with the electorate college, my liberal friend?

      • Not furious with the electoral college, quite happy that Hillary lost. Happy, because I am a real conservative who actually understands how bad liberalism is. Hence my concern about Trump, a NY lib, who can’t get along with solid conservatives like Gorsuch, Sessions, Haleyn etc…

  2. The President tweeted the following a few hours ago:

A story in the @washingtonpost that I was close to “rescinding” the nomination of Justice Gorsuch prior to confirmation is FAKE NEWS. I never even wavered and am very proud of him and the job he is doing as a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. The unnamed sources don’t exist!
