stolen-hotel-stuffA family from Netanya has been found in possession of a store of goods stolen from an Eilat hotel. Among the stolen items are 60 towels, hundreds of coffee bags, soaps, and other toiletries. The mother was arrested yesterday and questioned by police. She admitted to the allegations against her and was finally released under restricted conditions. The police investigation has revealed that the family left the Sheraton Hotel in Eilat, where they were vacationing, on Motzoei Shabbos and arrived home at around 4 a.m. Sunday. They unpacked the goods upon arriving.

But unfortunately for the family, police were holding surprise searches in the homes of youths suspected of drug and theft violations. Among the suspects was the family’s 17-year old son.

Police arrived at the home, presented the family with a warrant, and proceeded to search the premises. They found dozens of trash bags filled with goods from the hotel.

The mother then told police she had taken the things from the hotel. She insisted all through her interrogation that she had not stolen, but rather taken the goods. She added, “Everyone takes, so I took, too.”

Police officers confiscated the items and notified the hotel of the case.

  1. The headline should say: “Secular Family Takes 60 Towels from Eilat Hotel”. How do I know they’re secular? Well, if they were 10% religious (sort of like Madoff) the media would be shouting this fact from the rooftops, instantly ordaining them “rabbis” to boot.

From now on every news item of violence or unethical behavior out there should be reported in the frum media with the proper religious ID of the perps, just to put things in perspective: “Non-Jewish Male Kills Wife and 3 Kids”; “Leftist Kibbutznik dead of drugs”; “Secular Kneset Member Arrested for Fraud”…
