The FBI obtained a warrant Sunday for a set of longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s emails found on a laptop belonging to her husband Anthony Weiner, a U.S. official told POLITICO.
The warrant comes two days after FBI Director James Comey announced a review of the emails in connection with Clinton’s private email server, which she used during her tenure as secretary of state. Comey indicated it was unclear how significant the newly located emails were, if at all.
The search warrant was apparently necessary because the warrant used to seize the laptop and other devices from Weiner earlier this month was focused on evidence that he sent problematic messages. The new warrant would broaden that search. Read more at POLITICO.
