Feds: Oregon Imam Worked for Bin Laden

The U.S. Department of Justice is working to revoke American citizenship granted to an imam in Oregon who they say “dealt directly” with Osama bin Laden.

In a court petition filed on Monday, the feds say that in the 1980s Mohamed Sheikh Abdirahman Kariye recruited fighters for an early precursor to al Qaeda, and fundraised for the groups fighting the USSR in Afghanistan. He apparently did not reveal this in his citizenship application. Read more.
