woodridge-pizza-fireToday, exactly four weeks after a large fire thoroughly destroyed the Woodridge, NY, pizza parlor owned and operated by R’ Shragie and Frumie Feller and family, the store will be reopening close to its original location.

The electrical fire, on Sunday, July 4, broke out at approximately 3:30 p.m. and ripped through the back of the building, destroying the structure of Feller’s Pizza Shop, located at 9 Broadway in the heart of the town of Woodridge, as firefighters – and over a dozen fire trucks – from surrounding towns joined in battling the blaze.

The Fellers are residents of the Village Park neighborhood in Lakewood, NJ, and also operate Sprinkles, a pizza store at the Four Corners in Fallsburg.

Sprinkles operates 12 months a year, Sunday thru Friday, while the Woodridge store is open from Shavuos to Sukkos.

The Fellers have owned the Woodridge pizza store for a decade and were renters at the previous premises.

Shragie, who is a Hatzolah volunteer, will be on hand with his family today for the grand opening at the new store, located at 14 Green Avenue in Woodridge. There is ample parking in front of the store, as well as 100 parking spaces in back of the store for the convenience of customers.

During the celebration, there will be prizes, rides, balloons, cotton candy and more for all visitors. Today, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., a special sale on pizza for $2 a slice, French fries for $2 each, and sodas for 50 cents each will be offered.

In the aftermath of the recent fire, various camps offered the Fellers use of their premises, and food preparation had taken place at the facilities of Camp Morris.

Shragie and his family have expressed their boundless appreciation to all those in the Catskills and around their world who offered their support and encouragement following the devastating blaze.

The outpouring of support from the wider Jewish community has been phenomenal, Shragie and his family have remarked, with offers of assistance coming in many different forms.
