Ferguson Mayor: No Severance for Wilson

The mayor of Ferguson says that Darren Wilson will not receive a severance package as part of his resignation. Wilson announced yesterday that he would resign from the Ferguson police force.

Mayor James Knowles said today that Ferguson and Wilson had “severed ties” and “won’t receive any further pay or benefits.”

Last week, a grand jury decided not to indict Wilson on criminal charges for killing 18-year-old Michael Brown in August, sparking a wave of protests throughout the country. Read more.

  1. So, in-essence, the mayor is siding with the protesters! Darren Wilson is a hero!
    Certainly his family would have gotten a severance package if he had allowed Celebrity Michael Brown to obliterate him!
    Ferguson is congruant to lawlessness!

  2. Very disgusting of the Mayor to throw him under the bus like that. He put his life on the line every day, and this is what they do to him? As the Grand Jury stated, he did nothing wrong.
