A film crew, led by Danny Finkelman of Sparks Productions, was in Japan to shoot a music video to benefit the two yeshivah boys that are incarcerated in the Chiba prison for the past three years.

The film, which will be used to raise awareness and funds for the boys’ defense, features singers Shloime Daskal, who came along to Japan, as well as Avrohom Fried, who will be filmed in New York.

“We met with the boys for the last three days, and found them to be in good spirits and with much faith in their potential upcoming release,” Finkelman tells COLlive.

“This is despite the fact that the boys, who are sitting in cells just feet from each other, are not allowed to meet, and have not met since the day of their arrest – three years ago.”

The boys are being held in very tough conditions, and Kosher food is also prohibited, so all they eat are fruits, vegetables, and a local Japanese bread.

They are both busy learning for Smicha, and keep a diary of their visitors, Finkelman said.
