Fire At B’Tselem OfficesAn Israeli Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson announced that no evidence has been found to show that the B’Tselem offices were deliberately set on fire. “After an initial examination, we have found that there is a high probability that the fire was caused by an electrical failure in the offices,” the spokesman said.

The fire occurred Sunday night at the NGO’s offices in the neighborhood of South Talpiot in Yerushalayim. Rumors had circulated following the incident that the fire was the result of an arson attack carried out by right wing extremists.

A press release issued by B’Tselem itself indicated that the organization indeed suspected that the fire may have been the result of an arson attack.
