Emergency crews from throughout Sullivan County battled a monster five-alarm blaze Thursday night at a Yeshiva complex on Gibber Road in the Town of Thompson.
Crews fought the fire at 168 Gibber Road for several hours as it made its way through the large three-story building.
The site, off Route 42 between the Village of Monticello and South Fallsburg. is the former Gibber Hotel and listed in property records as being built in 1950.
The Yeshiva and surrounding homes is part of the Viznitzer kehillah.
Fire companies from as far as Circleville in Orange County have been requested for mutual aid at the fire.
