The Flatbush Jewish Community Coalition, FJCC, announced a total of $10,000 reward for any credible information leading to the recovery of the stolen Sifrei Torah.

The FJCC is posting $9,000 in addition to the $1000 reward previously offered by Councilman David Greenfield, to help find the thief who brazenly stole the Torahs on October 24, Simchas Torah night from a Flatbush Shul.

Working with the shuls’ leaders, Flatbush Shomrim, the NYPD, and Councilman Greenfield who represents the area, the FJCC is confident that the increased reward will help encourage those with information to come forward. Police identified a possible suspect, and are actively seeking to interview him.

Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez personally assured FJCC leaders that every effort will be extended to apprehend and prosecute the perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law.

  1. Man, I could use that money. But they know who did it. The thief in the picture was an employee of one of the people who is currently out of the country. The police have already rated his apartment but he is nowhere to be found. The thief was let in because people were learning bechavrusa at the time. Then he waited till everyone left. I can’t reveal more at this time.
