flatbush1Flatbush residents are being encouraged to be extra careful and cautious after a number of frum Yidden have been harassed and chased on the streets of the Brooklyn community.

Last Sunday night, a 25-year-old was held up at gunpoint by two African American males. The incident took place on East 13th Street, between Avenues M and N.

Friday night, an 18-year-old yeshiva bochur was chased in the same area. The suspects were described as being the same as in the first incident.

Tuesday night, in yet a third case, a 16-year-old frum girl was chased by thugs, once again with the same description as the perpetrators of the earlier incidents.

A hold-up on East 8th Street, off of Avenue O and other occurrences have led local askanim to call for extra vigilance. Yidden are encouraged not to walk alone, but to be accompanied by a partner when venturing out after nightfall, if possible.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Chanukah.
