flood-wall-streetNearly a thousand protesters clad in blue hit Wall Street today to protest what they saw as the financial sector’s role in promoting investments in planet-polluting industries.

Protesters were reportedly ready to get arrested by the NYPD, and around 1:20 p.m. tensions rose between demonstrators and police after multiple officers took down a protester.

The “Flood Wall Street” protest comes a day after an estimated 300,000 people, including Al Gore, Ban Ki Moon, and Bill de Blasio, marched for action on climate change in New York. Tomorrow, President Obama will address to the United Nations General Assembly on the same issue. Read more at Politico.
