A man from the Florida Keys is going to prison for the rest of his life after being convicted in a plot to try and use a weapon of mass destruction and provide support to ISIS.
Harlem Suarez, also known as Almlak Benitez, appeared on the radar of federal investigators in April 2015 when they say he started to make extremist posts on his Facebook page. Those posts included promotions for ISIS.
Earlier this year, a jury convicted Suarez of knowingly attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction against a person or property while in the US, and attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization.
Suarez received life in prison for the weapon of mass destruction conviction and a 20-year sentence for attempting to provide material support. Read more at CBS12.
