A cellular Shabbos phone patented by Machon Tzomet ‘Telegrama’ will be used by the head of Israel’s Council for National Security, Yaakov Nagel, for the first time, utilizing Bluetooth technology and a specially designed application that avoids chillul Shabbos, reports Yoel Domb for Arutz Sheva.
The phone was designed by Machon Tzomet head Rav Yisrael Rosen and engineer Yoni Ben David, with Nagel deciding to use the phone because his communications on Shabbos had begun to ruin the ruach of Shabbos in his home.
