Two former IDF chiefs of staff, Benny Gantz and Moshe Ya’alon, have agreed to run on a joint list in the upcoming Knesset elections.

The two men reached an just before Gantz’s debut speech as the head of the Israel Resilience Party, scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening.

To enable the deal with Gantz, Ya’alon reportedly stepped back from a previous pledge not to sit in a government led by current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — an option Gantz is leaving that option open, depending on the elections results.

A political feud with Netanyahu led to Ya’alon’s resignation as defense minister in 2016.

There was no word on what role Yaalon might play in a Gantz-led government, though previous reports have hinted that he would likely return to the Defense Minister.

The Knesset elections are set to be held on April 9.

  1. Moshe Yaalon who threw an innocent person from Yehuda and Shomron into prison with his Duma libel and still languishing there, and he threw the soldier Elor Azariyah into prison, and cares for terrorists more than for soldiers should never be voted for.
Benny Gantz a leftists, Arab appeaser, no different than Yaalon.
Hence, Netanyahu is better than these clowns.
