There’s trouble in paradise for the bromance between French President Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump. France has strongly criticized the U.S. after the Treasury Department slapped new sanctions on Iran, two days after Trump angered European allies by withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear deal. The French foreign minister said European companies would suffer because the sanctions hit firms that carry out trade with Iran.

Jean-Yves Le Drian said: “We feel that the extraterritoriality of their sanction measures are unacceptable. The Europeans should not have to pay for the withdrawal from an agreement by the United States, to which they had themselves contributed.” He added Europe would “put in place the necessary measures to protect the interests of our companies and start negotiations with Washington” on the matter. Meanwhile, Iran has supported Syria’s right to defend itself against aggression from Israel, accusing others of remaining silent over attacks on their ally. Read more at France 24.

  1. Don’t worry sanctions or not you will not even see Frances, Germany’s, or England’s shadows behind you. During WWII they helped Hitler take over Europe, so did Germany, Poland, etc. so now the US is waiting for them to be behind the US don’t hold your breath. As usual the US will have to be in front and they will maybe timidly follow behind with a question mark????? If the enemy is totally destroyed and they will take a bow of how brave they were later when it is safe.

  2. So France wants USA to fight Assad and Iran supports Assad. So we should support the enemy that they want us to fight. This is how the liberalized warped minds think.

  3. You can’t expect anything better from a Macaroni who marries a grandma and surrounded by Muslims. Petrified from all sides.
