At a Knesset meeting this week, Health Minister Ya’akov Litzman and Finance Committee chairman MK Moshe Gafni demanded that Prime Minister Netanyahu form a team to take charge of management and long-term funding of Kever Rashbi in Meron.

The Prime Minister agreed with the complaints and put finance minister Moshe Chalon  in charge of putting together a team to plan and budget Lag B’Omer in Meron. The team will mainly focus on access roads to the mountain and means of transport to cater to the thousands of immigrants Meron draws in each year.

  1. “the thousands of immigrants Meron draws in each year.”

Which countries are they coming from? Mexico? India? Zimbabwe?

  2. The biggest problem with transportation to and from Meron IS the Israeli Government’s attempts to regulate the transportation. I was in Meron this year, the police had roadblocks set up and they weren’t letting enough busses through.
