Eric Garner’s family was quick to condemn the attack on two NYPD officers which is believed to have been in retaliation for Garner’s death.
“These two officers lost their lives senselessly,” said Gwen Carr, the mother of Eric Garner, at a Sunday morning press conference. “We want you to not use Eric Garner’s name for violence because we are not about that.”
Garner’s widow, Esaw Garner, also spoke out. “I know what its like to lose a loved one before the holidays. Please protest in peace, my husband was a non violent man,” she said. Read more at Twitter.
