Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich received the following question at a town hall: “What I’ve been looking for in my candidate is fire in the belly. We’ve got to bloody Obama’s nose. You’ve mentioned challenging him to seven, three-hour debates. He has this armor of media surrounding him. If he doesn’t agree to that, how do you plan to aggressively take the gloves off and go after him?”

Newt smiled and calmly responded, “Let me say first of all, I don’t want to argue with you about the analogy. I don’t want to bloody his nose, I want to knock him out.”

  1. Unfortunately for Gingrich, elections are not boxing matches. The American people determine the winner, and recent polls continue to show Obama solidly beating Gingrich in a head-to-head match up (51%-37% and 49%-42%).

Gov. Romney, on the other hand, continues to poll close to Obama, yet Gingrich keeps arguing that Romney will lose to Obama. Well, if Romney will lose, Gingrich will get shellacked.

  3. I would LOVE to see debates between Newt and Osama – I mean Obama. Newt would do worse to our president with honest words than the strongest fists any day.
