Rudy Giuliani says that President Barack Obama should have released the death photos of Osama bin Laden because they’re going to leak out anyway and it would erase any doubts about the al Qaeda leader’s killing.
“The pictures are eventually going to get out and then you are going to relive all the intensity of this a month from now or two months from now or three months from now,” Giuliani said. “Why not put them out now and satisfy at least the rational people who have questions about the identity of bin Laden?”
Giuliani, who has praised the president for his actions that led to the killing of the 9/11 mastermind, made these comments while speaking at the Great Lakes Homeland Security Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Obama decided not to release the pictures on Wednesday.
“It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool,” Obama said in a taped interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes.
