???????Conservative media commentator Glenn Beck lashed out Friday at Donald Trump’s “despicable” use of the 9/11 terrorist attacks to discredit GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz’s criticism of Trump’s “New York values.”

In a panel discussion on “The Glenn Beck Program,” for which Beck provided a commentary and transcript, the outspoken host condemned Trump for ignoring the context of Cruz’s remark – and the mainstream media’s praise of Trump’s emotional recounting of how New Yorkers bravely endured the Sept. 11, 2001, strike and its recovery.

“Sensible people know the tragedy of 9/11 has absolutely nothing to do with New York values,” Beck writes.

“However, the mainstream media—who jumped on [former New York Mayor] Rudy Giuliani during the 2008 campaign for using 9/11—have rallied around Trump, crucifying Ted Cruz in the process.”

In the panel debate on the bitter exchange between Trump and Cruz at the Tuesday night debate in South Carolina, Beck accused the current liberal New York Mayor Bill de Blasio of being so left-wing, he’s “a communist.”

“The guy they elected as mayor of New York is a communist, and everybody knows it,” Beck railed. “And for Donald Trump to play that card was a despicable slap in the face to 9/11.”

Yet, Beck charged, “the media is coming out and saying, ‘Donald Trump is exactly right on it.’ They’re all praising him. It’s because they’re all liberal.”

“They all think like that in New York,” Beck said.

“To me, I thought it was shameful,” he said, adding: “I don’t think there’s a conservative out there that was on the fence that thought Donald Trump won that.”

Asked why the media would look harshly at Giuliani’s invocation of 9/11 during his presidential bid, but allow Trump to do the same thing, Beck bluntly replied: “They hate Ted Cruz.”

  1. I don’t get this. I don’t like Trump and will not vote for him in the primaries. I think though that this was a fine moment for him. Cruz is a smart guy, and I could definitely vote for him. Yet I can’t figure out how he thought it was a good idea to write off a state like NY?

  2. Tzippi: I’ll tell you why. BOTH the Democrats & the Republicans “write off” NY because its a guaranteed win for whomever is nominated as the Democrat. With a 5 to 1 Democrat voter ratio, why would either Party waste time & money in a State that is automatically in the bag for the Dems? I actually think that Cruz was brilliant in his defining New Yorker’s as extreme militant left wing Money grubben Liberals. Its a win win for him. This way he appeals to the Evangelical Christians in the Heartland of America who still have some semblance of Fear of G-d and are looking for that Moral leader (Huckabee & Santorum did that in 08 & 12), without “losing” a single State. If Huckabee & Santorum are knocked out by the time the NY primaries roll around, we will definitely vote for Cruz over the immoral Trump.

  3. For trump to use 911 is the biggest copout ever. Completely cuts out all the non nyrs that showed up to help from New Jersey and the rest of the country. As someone who lives in ny other new Yorkers could care less if you dropped dead in the streets.
