General Motors wants to help you get your favorite cup of coffee faster with its new Marketplace platform. Available for eligible Cadillac, Chevy, Buick and GMC vehicles, Marketplace lets you order your venti mocha latte with a double shot of espresso right from your car’s touchscreen.

Marketplace, which GM says will roll out alongside a host of other interface updates for its vehicles throughout the next 12 to 18 months, will use your vehicle’s built-in 4G LTE connection to connect to a list of 12 different retailers that will offer some form of compatibility with Marketplace. Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts integration will allow you to order your favorite drink or “food item” from your car and then pick it up in the store or at the drive-through.

  1. How can they do that? How does the gov’t allow this?
Isn’t enough that people are allowed to talk on phone and text while driving?
    Do their shopping also?
How many people have to get hurt before this all stops?
They should be putting a cutoff in every car that would not allow talking on a cell (and of course texting) unless the car is at a standstill.

  2. Don’t purchase anything from Starbucks. They financially support immorality! Go to dumpstarbucks.com and see for yourself. There are plenty of other places to buy coffee from.

  3. Great some more interference while some one is driving, so far we have people on the phone, we have people twittering on the phone, etc., etc. now you can try to decide what kind of coffee you want, and yes watch out for the car in front of you, on the side of you, and in the back of you. I guess if you live in an area, during the morning hours where the cars go at 10 miles an hour, and you are sitting there humming to yourself, but watch out for the car in front of you who just stop dead and you were not paying attention, and yes there will be people now on Marijuana who are slow on thinking and action, but at least they can order a cup of coffee and slam into you at the same time.
    Sounds good to me.

  4. GM (government owned) is just trying to pump up their DEAD products. Who in the world still buys their junk? Quick, name 3 people that you know, that “own” a GM vehicle. N O B O D Y! They tried this same shtick with Onstar. It was a total bust. Every 3 year old has a cellphone. Today, everyone has their cellphones automatically connected to their vehicles bluetooth. Who needs to pay extra just to speak to some idiot at GM over the vehicles speakers? Fake news.

  5. Kosher coffee. It is reported to be.

Good place to sit and enjoy. I go once in a while. The cheap is good and they give me a free cup of coffee with my gold card.

So we need it. Mind the owner. He could ever be chassidic with teshuvah. I would hope.
