google-caffeineA resident of the Jewish community of Eli in Samaria has discovered that the giant Google search engine is apparently not waiting for Israel and the Palestinian Authority to complete final status negotiations. In Google’s Internet world, life for Jews in the region has already taken on a new reality.

Eliezer Tabor, a resident of Eli, picked up a connection on the community’s wireless router as usual this week. But he found that despite the fact that the rest of the sites he surfed recognized his location as within Israel, Google named his location as within “Palestinian territory.”

“When I opened the main page of Google to search for something, I was surprised to find myself located in an Arabic area on this search engine,” he told Arutz Sheva.

Tabor emphasized that he was not even located in a place under Arab control.

  1. Maybe it is a surprise to Matzav. but most of the world outside EY calls the West bank or Judea and Samaria, Palestinian territory. When they don´t call it Occupied Palestinian territories or just The Occupied territories.

  2. They do this because Jews are about 12-14 million people and very unpowerful. Compare that to writing Israel and offending extremely powerful 1.5 Billion Arabs. If you (a Jew) headed Google, you would probably write the same thing!

  3. Israelis may call it “west bank” but Jews call it what it is, Eretz Yisroel!

There are no Palestinians, just stam erev rav left behind by the Turks. Why don’t you call them what they are and stop worrying about what they call what’s ours?
