googleSearch engines have begun to implement an European Union court ruling that said individuals control their own data and can therefore ask search engines to remove certain results. As a result,The Guardian has received notification that multiple articles have been scrubbed from Google. The outlet said it wasn’t told why the articles were removed.

The requests included articles relating to a Premier League referee who lied about a penalty, French office workers making Post-It art, a solicitor facing a fraud trial, and a week’s worth of pieces by the site’s media commentator. Ironically, while the search results for “Dougie McDonald” no longer appear in Europe, they do surface if you type “Scottish referee who lied.” Read more at The Guardian.
