House Republicans nominated Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House on Wednesday, ahead of a Thursday House-wide vote that will formally make him John Boehner’s replacement.
The vote was 200 to 43 with Rep. Daniel Webster coming in second.
After earning the support, but not the endorsement of the House Freedom Caucus, Ryan’s election was all but inevitable. Read more at The New York Times.
