sen-lindsey-grahamSen. Lindsey Graham declares in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that the United States could soon find itself “in a very dangerous ti me with Iran.”

“How do you convince the Iranians you’re serious about stopping their nuclear weapons when, in Syria, Assad has slaughtered 70-80,000 people?” asks the South Carolina Republican, a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, referring to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. “We left Iraq without any troops and Iran has benefited from that vacuum.

“We’re talking about leaving Afghanistan, not winning Afghanistan – and Benghazi is an example of not having the will and commitment to secure your interests and outsourcing security to a nonexistent government.

“We’re really not serious about stopping their nuclear program,” Graham tells Newmax.

And, if Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad does not change his course by summer, military force must be an option, Graham says.

“The Iranians are going to get a nuclear weapon unless they change their course. As we have negotiated and imposed sanctions, they’ve increased the amount of enriched uranium.

“The more we talk, the more they enrich – and that model is not going to work until they believe military force is a serious,” Graham adds. “The day they believe that, they may change course, but Israel is not going to allow them to keep going in the enriching business without defending the state of Israel.”
