The engagement of a granddaughter of Rav Meshulem Dovid Soloveitchik, son of the Brisker Rov and rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Brisk in Yerushalayim, was announced this week. The kallah is a daughter of Rav Dovid’s son, Rav Velvel Soloveitchik, who delivers shiur in his father’s yeshiva. Rav Velvel is a son-in-law of Rav Berel Povarsky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Ponovezh in Bnei Brak.
The chosson, Eli Moshe Saks, is a son of Rav Elazar Saks of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and a grandson of Rav Baruch Saks of Lakewood, maggid shiur at Yeshiva of Staten Island and former rov of the Agudah of 14th Avenue in Boro Park. The chosson is also a grandson of Rav Meir Zelig Mann zt”l, executive director of Yeshivas Telshe-Cleveland. The chosson is currently a talmid at Rav Dovid Soloveitchik’s yeshiva.
This is not the first time that the Soloveitchik family has been meshadeich with families from chutz la’aretz. Rav Dovid’s own rebbetzin, a daughter of Rav Asher Shternbuch zt”l, hails from England. Also, Rav Dovid’s son-in-law, Rav Nechemya Kaplan, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Shaar Hatalmud in Yerushalayim and a son of Rav Boruch and Rebbetzin Vichnah Kaplan zt”l, hails from New York.

and r velvels first son in law is also american!
Just one sterling example of the fine bochurim and Yidden in Cleveland Heights. Mazel Tov!
one of a kind bochur
great shidduch “mishnai hatzdudim’
Rabbi boruch saks was rov of tzeiray minyan in 14th ave Aguda – and rov of Camp Mogen Avrohom
Actually most of the shidduchim in the Solovetchik family were with Chutz L’aretz families.
Most of R’ Berel’s children also married into families from Europe
but them ore important question is, does her mother use plastic plates?
did the chosson give a handwriting sample for analysis?
He is young and was not at all planing on getting married for the next few years. He’s there since Sukkos and spoke a few times in learning with R’ Dovid. – That did it!
Mazal Tov R’ Elazar!
It’s this kind of silliness that people can get away by posting anonymous comments. I am certain if I were to meet you in shul you would be a pleasant Yid to meet and would not talk this way. And af al pi kayn, why talk this way anyway?! Why do we lose our conscience here in the comments?
Is R’ Dovid facing away from the choson because he is American?
As a person involved in chinuch I have found that bochurim from cleveland are the finest. There is something special about a cleveland yid. the chinuch in cleveland is absolute best
Dov,
“As a person involved in chinuch”
Do you happen to be involved in chinuch in Cleveland?

It sounds like some Cleveland people have to validate themselves.
why doesnt evreybody keep their smart remaks to themselves and grow up that cleveland has the best bocurim and chinuch if your in chinuch in cleveland you have no right to say that and if your not grow up stop saying silly things and if your not in chinuch at all stop lieing f t
Rav Velvel is a massive masmid and anav!
After the “rant” article about how shidduchim and schools are all about status, why is matzav.com running an article about how much yichus this couple has? Who cares who their parents and grandparents are? How about who they are?
to #20 “vi hakina vi hatoiva vi ha kavod motzey es ha adum min ha olam”
To #15
