candle-small6[Levaya info below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of habochur Chaim Yosef Meir Berger z”l, who passed away today at age 13. Yosef Meir, son of Rabbi and Mrs. Ezra and Miriam Berger, was injured just before Purim when a bat struck him in the head. He had celebrated his bar mitzvah just days prior to the tragic accident.

While this tayereh bochur lay in a coma for the past months, Klal Yisroel across the globe united in tefillah, beseeching the Ribono Shel Olam for rachamim. Reb Ezra and Miriam served as remarkable paragons of gevurah and bitachon throughout the ordeal, providing chizuk to others while they themselves dealt with their own, most trying nisayon. They created a great kiddush Hashem at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, where Yosef Meir was treated. The name Chaim was added after the accident and thousands davened for Chaim Yosef Meir ben Miriam Henya.

Reb Ezra, during the difficult period, offered words of strength to all Yidden davening for his son, stating that “tefillos embedded with emunah and bitachon to Hakadosh Boruch Hu, Who is the true Rofei Chol Bosor, will make the difference.”

As the special neshamah of this beloved bochur takes its place next to the Kisei Hakavod, Yidden all over impart their words of nechamah to Reb Ezra and Miriam. May they continue to have the strength to move forward while cherishing the precious short years granted to their son.

May we only hear of simchos in the future.

Umacha Hashem dimah mei’al kol ponim.

Update: The levaya will take place at 11:30 p.m. at the Congregations Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, located off of East Seventh Street, between Somerset Avenue and Brook Road, in Lakewood.

  1. Baruch Dayan HaEmes What a tragedy we caused cause we cant get our act together & do teshuva
WHAT ARE WE ALL WAITING FOR? has klal yisroel gotten the message from Hashem-waiting for us to start doing teshuva-have YOU done anything yet? how many more tragedies & Tzaddikim will it take C”V before we wake up & start doing teshuva? OVER 85 GEDOLEI HADOR have passed away within the past year R”L. HOW MANY MORE DO WE NEED TO LOSE C”V to let hashem know that we get the message for klal yisroel to start doing teshuva ASAP?

note:lots of the gedolim this past year were niftar R”L in the 70?s or 80?s this was not enough to wake us up to teshuva

BOTTOM LINE:people are starting to die younger & younger cause 79 (Rebetzin kanievsky, Rabbi Tendler Zt”l & the spinka rebbe of yerushalyim ZT”L)
was not young enough to wake us up to start doing teshuva.

HOW YOUNG will it take for us to get the message from Hashem for everyone-myself included-to start doing teshuva & return to Hashem? Klal Yisroel already lost a big tzaddik LAST WEEK at the young age of 37 while he was learning over a sefer Rabbi akiva ehrenfeld ZT”L & son of mattesdorfer rav.
