The hachtarah of Rav Doniel Yehuda Neustadt as the rov of the Pine River Village Nusach Ashkenaz shul will take place this Motzoei Shabbos, Parshas Ki Seitzei, at a seudas melava malka at the Pine River Village Simcha Hall. The event will begin at 9:15 p.m.

Pine River Village is a unique neighborhood located off of Pine Street in Lakewood that is home to those age 55 and over. First built about nine years ago, the community has grown as additional houses were constructed and sold.

Most of the PRV residents previously resided in New York and elsewhere, and purchased homes in the beautiful PRV community in order to be close to married children living in Lakewood or simply to imbibe the enriching atmosphere of the Torah city.

neustadtThe PRV community is comprised of a wonderful mix of elder bnei Torah, including rabbonimmaggidei shiur, mechanchim and askanim, all of whom have had indelible impacts on the communities where they previously lived, and who continue to uplift and inspire as members of their current kehillah in Lakewood.

The new rov, Rav Neustadt, presently serves as the yoshev rosh of the Vaad Harabbonim of Detroit and as the mara d’asra of Bnai Israel-Beth Yehudah in Oak Park, Michigan, and will continue living in Detroit and serving in that capacity at the present time.

His seforim include The Weekly Halacha Discussion, The Daily Halacha Discussion, and The Monthly Halacha Discussion. He is also the editor of the works of Rav Yaakov Kamenetsky zt”l, such as Emes L’Yaakov. Rav Neustadt’s father-in-law, Reb Avrohom Kamenetsky zt”l, was Rav Yaakov’s youngest son.

At the hachtarah this Motzoei Shabbos, divei brachah will be delivered by Rav Feivel Cohen, noted senior posek, author of the seforim Badei Hashulchan, and a member of the Pine River Village kehillah, and by Rav Yeruchim Olshin, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoah.

In honor of the hachtarah, Rav Neustadt will speak at the shul this Shabbos morning after Mussaf. Shabbos afternoon, he will deliver a halachah shiur from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by Minchah.
