Israel’s Securities Authority issued a report on Sunday revealing that personal details of hundreds of thousands of IDF soldiers have been stolen from army servers and sold to outside parties.

The group of hackers had sold personal information about IDF soldiers for year without being caught, but a rise in complaints by soldiers about marketing calls led the Justice Department to open an investigation.

The data, which was accessed with a developed computer program, contained contact information of the soldiers and their relatives and was then sold to marketing companies and other parties.
