Half Million Dollars Worth of Anti-Chris Christie Ads to Air

An outside group formed to push back on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s record is launching a $500,000 cable ad buy in the state starting Wednesday, two media-buying sources told Politico.

The group, One New Jersey, formed as a counterweight to a pro-Christie outside group, has reserved airtime totaling just over $500,000 for two weeks, according to the sources familiar with the buy.

The buys are in the New York and Philadelphia cable markets, which have reach into both ends of the Garden State.

The content of the ads that will air wasn’t immediately clear. A spokesman for the group did not respond to emails for comment.
But it was formed in 2011 as an opposing force to “Reform Jersey Now,” which was created a year earlier with the aim of promoting Christie’s policies.
