Hamas Masked Killings With Gaza Conflict

hamasAn Amnesty International report published Tuesday accuses Hamas of using last summer’s Gaza conflict to carry out the unlawful executions of 23 Palestinians.

The report says that Hamas committed human-rights abuses during last summer’s 50-day war, such as the summary execution of at least 23 people and the arrest and torture of dozens of others, including members of political rival Fatah.

Hamas has not accepted responsibility for the killings, but in a response to the report, blamed Israel for creating a “situation of chaos” during the conflict, The New York Times reports.

Mushir al-Masri, a spokesman for Hamas, said Israel’s attack on the Gaza security services prevented them from managing Palestinian internal affairs. Read more at The Guardian.
