mashaalHamas leaders are discussing a possible five-year cease-fire with Israel during a meeting with Qatar, according to the Palestinian Al-Quds newspaper.

Israeli media confirmed that Hamas leader Moussa Abu Marzouk arrived in Doha on Saturday and has been meeting with fellow Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal, who lives in Qatar, as well as other officials of the Gaza-ruling Palestinian terror group.

The truce, which is being backed by Qatar and Turkey, stipulates that Hamas halts fire against Israel for five years in exchange for Israel allowing the construction of a floating seaport off the Gaza coast. The proposed port would be inspected by Israeli and international supervisors, and the five-year duration of the deal could later be extended further, Yediot Achronot reported.

Israel has previously objected to such truces on the grounds that a seaport could be a vehicle for Hamas to smuggle in weapons that would be used to attack the Jewish state.

  1. of course….to have an open seaport for 5 years and bring in, undeterred, the most dangerous and powerful weaponry. It’s surely worth it for Hammas to make such a deal. They probably think Eretz Yisroel are a bunch of idiots to even suggest this. What a joke.

  2. How long does it take to learn what a “cease fire” with Hamas means?
How many times will Israel make the same mistake and be morally weak, strengthening our enemy?
How many more empty threats will we hear from our political and military leaders proving to our enemy we don’t have the soul to fight for our cause and will definitely tolerate terror as long as there is “quiet” inbetween trickle attacks which we will live with? The notion of Israel accepting the Qatar proposal is nauseating.

  3. The inhuman murderers of innocents, including babies in their strollers, want a five year time-out in order to stock up on more arms with which to murder more men, women and children? Shame on the entire Arab world for siding with these beasts. And shame on Europe for turning a blind eye to what’s really happening and instead rubber-stamping UN condemnations of Israel. And especially shame on the BDS movement for siding with the current day Nazis while doing their best to disenfranchise and punish their victims.
