Five hospitals and nursing homes in the Hudson Valley/Catskill region will receive a total of $35.6 million in grants through the state’s Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law (HEAL NY).
The largest grant will go to Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, which will get $12.6 million.
Hospital spokesman JT McGuirk said much of the funds will be applied for a specific purpose.
“In our application, we requested the money to reduce our debt and modernize our facilities,” McGuirk said.
Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester will receive $11.9 million; Field Home-Holy Comforter nursing home in Cortland Manor will receive $8 million; St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers headquarters in Poughkeepsie will receive $2 million; and Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty will receive $1.9 million.
Governor Cuomo said the grants will help health care facilities “deliver better quality care in a more efficient and cost effective manner.”
