Hatzolah of Los Angeles honored LAPD Assistant Chief Beatrice Girmala at their Disaster Preparedness and Safety Fair held at Yeshiva Aharon Yaakov Ohr Eliyahu on Sunday, 20 Sivan/June 26.

Hatzolah’s fair is the largest safety event in the Jewish community on the West Coast.     Many public officials, including Assemblyman Sebastian Ridley Thomas, Councilman Koretz, Councilman Ryu, Sheriff Jim McDonnell, and Supervisor Mike Antonovich, were in attendance. The new Los Angles Shmira Patrol was promoted at this event.

The fair featured a moonwalk, a helicopter flyover, and police cars and a firetruck for the children to climb into. There were also live CPR, choking and first-aid demonstrations. The climax of the event was a live Jaws-of-Life presentation.

Hatzolah promoted health, fire, earthquake, and personal safety at the event, which was organized by Hatzolah’s executive director, Michoel Bloom, who said, “We’ve brought together important people from the federal, state, county, city and private sector to teach critical safety information in a fun, festive environment.”
