hot-weather-2Updated: The heat wave is in full effect again on Sunday.

It’s sunny, hot and humid, and for the second consecutive day there is a heat advisory in effect for the Tri-State Area.

“It’s another day to take it slow out there, ” AccuWeather meteorologist Dave Samuhel said. “Sunshine will boost temperatures into the middle 90s yet again. It’s expected to be 94 degrees in midtown, but it will feel more like 100 with the humidity factored in. So you really have to take it slow out there, especially during the afternoon hours. Save any strenuous activities until the evening, after it cools off some.”

And of course, air quality is normally affected when there is heat of this kind. As such, there is also an ozone advisory in effect for the region.

Also, city officials are continuing to remind locals that opening up fire hydrants without spray caps is illegal. It’s also potentially dangerous as it can lower water pressure, which would hamper efforts to fight a fire.

Elsewhere, in Monmouth County, New Jersey a boil-water advisory remains in effect as crews work to repair a major water-main break. There’s also a ban on outdoor water use , but there is no word on just how long those repairs will take.

  1. Stop complaining! Praise HKB”H for all 4 seasons. The summer is supposed to be hot. The winter is supposed to be cold. The spring & fall are pleasant preperations for the upcoming season. Ahh, Baruch Hashem!

  2. Yeah #1, big talker. I am sure you are writing your comment in the comfort of your air conditioned home. Maybe if you were living in Baltimore or DC where your power would be out, you would have a slightly different tone
