hot-heat-waveToday, the fast of Shiva Assar B’Tammuz, marks the date on which  the walls of Yerushalayim were breached after many months of siege by Nevuchadnetzar and his Babylonian forces.

Because 17 Tammuz fell this year on Shabbos, we observe the fast day today, 18 Tammuz.

Those who are fasting should stay inside as much as possible. Try to minimize going outside.

Running around even in an air-conditioned car is difficult.

If you do not feel well, call your rov. Rabbi Dovid Heber of the Star-K advised Matzav.com that if people feel dehydrated, ill or dizzy and are not sure whether to break their fast and cannot get an answer to their shailah, they should eat or drink immediately as needed.
