Thomas Gilbert Sr., the 70-year-old president of Wainscott Capital Partners, was discovered by his wife in their bedroom at about 3:30 p.m.

Police have not ruled out suicide, but Gilbert’s son was taken into custody Sunday night. His son fled the scene after the gun was fired, according to DNA Info, which also reported that he was financially supported by his father and may have wanted more money from him. (Gilbert’s wife was also home at the time of death.) No charges had been filed against the son. Wainscott Capital has $200 million in assets and was founded by Gilbert in 2011.
