mvc-njMotor vehicle fees in New Jersey will increase in July.
The Motor Vehicle Commission board approved the higher fees despite receiving more than 900 comments from angry motorists. Most of the complaints came from motorcyclists, who will pay $65 to register their bikes. The current fee is $31.50. It will also cost truckers, limo drivers and school bus drivers more to get a commercial driver’s license. The processing cost will jump from $35 to $125.

The MVC says the higher fees will generate $40 million to $60 million in added revenue.
