dov-hikindDear Friends,

As I sit here in Albany during the final week of our session, I do so with a Tehillim (Book of Psalms) in my hand, reciting the kappitlach specified for these tragic occasions. I’m consumed with the pictures of these three kidnapped boys. They could be my sons, or yours. The agony that their families share is clearly beyond our imagination.
When the phone rings, and when I visit any of the news sites that continue to update us on this dire situation, I shudder in fear at what the news might bring. Millions of us are united in these feelings, regardless of where we’re from or our particular beliefs and customs. The only answer now is prayer to the Al-mighty. Everyone needs to beg and plead for Hashem’s intervention. Promise Him something. Improve one area. This is our way and it is the appropriate response.
Whatever actions others are taking, I applaud them, but let us not forget that Hashem runs the world. Our prayers to Him are heard and our unity at this time is vital.
