Hikind Calls On Chancellor To Stop Pro-terror Glorification

“A folk hero to Radical Islamists—that’s who CUNY wants addressing its graduates? This is madness!”

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) is outraged that a radical Sharia advocate who praises terrorism has been invited to give a CUNY commencement speech. Linda Sarsour, a self-promoter who has glorified and encouraged terrorist stone throwers as “courageous” was invited by the City University of New York’s Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy to address this year’s graduating class.

“It’s almost beyond belief,” said Assemblyman Hikind. “It would be bad enough if this were a private university, but a City school that is funded by tax dollars asking a terrorism advocate to address its students? I’m shocked.

“Linda Sarsour has built her reputation by praising terrorists and murderers. France just suffered from a terror attack that ISIS takes credit for. Last week, there was an attack in the United States. And hardly a day goes by in Israel without an attempt on innocent people by radicals with no regard for human life. Sarsour praises these people. And that’s who CUNY is giving a platform to? What is the message they are sending their students, the next generation?

“I am calling on Chancellor James Milliken to step in and stop this madness. And I am certain I will not be the only one who understands how insidious it is to plant the seeds of radicalism in New York City University graduates.”

In 2015, Sarsour praised Arab stone throwers who targeted Israelis calling them “The definition of courage.”

Sarsour is an avowed anti-Zionist and shared the stage with a terrorist murderer who killed two Jewish students in a supermarket bombing in Israel.

Sarsour praised convicted PFLP terrorist Rasmea Odeh when the two addressed a left-wing conference in Chicago on April 2nd, saying she was “honored and privileged to be here in this space, and honored to be on this stage with Rasmea.”
