Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) called on all of the 2016 presidential candidates on Wednesday to demand the immediate removal of an associate professor at Oberlin College in Ohio following a slew of anti-Semitic hate rants on social media, which included Facebook posts on how she believed Israel was behind numerous terrorist attacks, including 9/11 and the Charlie Hebdo incident in Paris.

“I’m calling on Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Sen. John Kasich, Sen. Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to stand up against this kind of hatred, and call for the immediate removal of associate professor Joy Karega from Oberlin College,” said an outraged Assemblyman Hikind. “Her propaganda is not only intimidating, but it’s extremely dangerous. I truly hope the leaders of America will see to address this atrocity, and will send a clear-cut message that anti-Semitism, and any form of hatred, won’t be tolerated.”

It is reported that the president of the university Marvin Krislov defended the professor’s rant by saying it’s a “freedom of speech” issue. “This is what the neo-Nazis and anti-Semites believe,” Hikind said, referring to Karega’s comments. “This isn’t about freedom of speech, this is about pure, unadulterated hate that crosses the line.”

“The president’s response to such a hateful rant is so outrageous and pathetic,” Hikind added. “The fact that someone who runs a collegiate institution would support this kind of message is embarrassing. And, by the way, these are the same people that are educating our future generations.”
