Hikind: Netanyahu’s Address May Save The World From Nuclear and Disaster

NY State Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) says the world owes an enormous debt of gratitude to Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu for sharing the cold, hard facts about Iran.

“Why did President Obama fear this speech?” asks Hikind. “The speech is over and nothing catastrophic occurred. The world is still standing. Clearly, it’s not speeches from our allies that we should fear. The onslaught against Netanyahu over the last two months has been unnecessary.”
“We’re all weary of war and terror. Everyone who is civilized wants peace in the world, and in wanting peace so desperately, there is a part of every one of us that wants to believe a ‘deal’ with Iran will lead to greater security. But Prime Minister Netanyahu understands the difference between fantasy and reality. He understands the danger of ignoring the facts. As a leader responsible for the millions of lives that hang in the balance, he has shared those stark facts with Congress, with the American people, and with everyone in the world who is willing to look at hard evidence.
“Iran-the foremost state sponsor of terrorism-is a danger not only to Israel, not only to the Middle East, but to the United States. That has been the case for decades and it has only gotten worse as Prime Minister Netanyahu clearly pointed out. But that danger will grow exponentially to horrific and almost unimaginable proportions if Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Those weapons would not just be aimed at Israel but also at the United States.

“Is this so unimaginable? It is to those who don’t want to look at the facts.
“Beheadings. Chemical warfare. Training small children to blow themselves up in marketplaces. Savage extremists in the Middle East continue to demonstrate that what we consider unimaginable is standard fare to them.
“In a dark, savage Middle East, Israel is a beacon of humanity, of light, and of hope. And its Prime Minister has done his job enumerating the facts, making those who can handle the truth even more aware of what a genuine threat Iran poses to all of us. Prime Minister Netanyahu has my deep respect for bringing these uncomfortable truths to our attention.”
