hikind (15)Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) voiced his outrage over U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s remarks today at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, where he stated that the recent attacks in Paris are different from the Charlie Hebdo attacks earlier this year, suggesting there was a “legitimacy” and “rationale” behind those attacks, whereas Friday’s attacks were “absolutely indiscriminate.”

“I can’t believe what I just read. It’s demented. All of these attacks are about one thing only—adherents of radical Islam determined to eradicate and destroy our way of life. Is Kerry out of his mind? Is there any way to justify and explain such stupid rhetoric? These remarks are insulting, degrading, and absolutely dangerous.”

Hikind continued, “I call on Kerry to apologize immediately. With these disturbing remarks, Kerry gives credence to people who committed these acts of terrorism. Is that understandable, Mr. Secretary of State?”

In remarks today in Paris, Secretary of State Kerry stated, “There’s something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that. There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of – not a legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, okay, they’re really angry because of this and that. This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate.”

  1. Hikind is absolutely correct. But Kerry’s comments are just one more example of the lack of a moral compass that exemplifies Obama and his cohorts. They will continue to appease the terrorists at great risk to us and to our allies.

  2. Kerry did not mean what Hikind thinks he meant. The context is that Charlie Hedbo was an obvious target for terrorists because of their outrageous slanders on Islam (and on religion in general). The targets of the more recent attacks reflected no such calculation but were just designed to kill anyone present. When everything is a terror target, it really IS fundamentally different.

  3. And of course the Kosher Supermarket didn’t count because they were only Jews. It is a miracle that Kerry is able to walk with his foot constantly in his mouth. He and that Swedish moron, I think he is the foreign minister or something, who said that the cause of the bombings in Paris was Palestinian frustration. With such insightful geniuses it is no wonder Europe is going to the dogs.

  4. Kerry misspoke in a very clumsy manner. Hebdo had published deliberately provocative cartoons, while last week’s attacks were against people who had done and said nothing that could be taken as an insult. Of course both attacks have zero justification in any sane person’s mind.
