hikind-video-camerasAssemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said that on Friday night, the eve of Yom Kippur, a member of our community and his two children were victims of a horrendous incident. As the man was walking to shul in Flatbush with his son and daughter, two young men approached them and, before anyone could do anything to stop them, they assaulted the young girl, then ran off.
“Police from the 66th Precinct responded immediately and a special victims unit was dispatched,” said Hikind. “I spent hours with the family on Yom Kippur evening helping to calm them after this terrible incident.
“I want to praise our police department for their quick response, as well as their sensitive and serious handling of the investigation into this incident, which is ongoing. I remain in constant contact with the family. Our neighborhood security cameras are just one of the many tools that are being utilized to catch the assailants and I can assure everyone that this matter is being taken very seriously.”
