hillary-clinton-glassesHillary Clinton broke with her hiatus from politics Monday at the annual meeting of the American Bar Association, criticizing the states that have enacted strict voter ID lawas and the recent Supreme Court decision that killed a key part of the Voting Rights Act.

Clinton who has made a concerted effort to remain objective in most matters political since resigning as secretary of state, called the initiatives a “sweeping effort to construct new obstacles to voting, often under cover of addressing a phantom epidemic of ‘election fraud.'”

She also noted that “every obstacle is not related to race, but anyone who says that racial discrimination is no longer a problem in American elections must not be paying attention,” and urged former fellow members of Congress to repair “the hole opened up by the Supreme Court’s ruling,” or else “historical progress toward a ‘more perfect union’ will go backward, not forward.” Read more at NBC News.

  1. I guess she objects equally to all the other picture ID’s Americans need to carry. The other day I heard her on the radio news speaking after getting some award. She, a totally corrupt individual married to another of the same type, had the gall to speak out against corruption.

  2. What does voter ID have to do with race? It’s about voter fraud, and fraud of any kind is illegal. You can’t get a library card without verifying your ID and residence. Kal v’chomer the same should apply for voting.
This whole debate about race is narishkeit as most Black people have proper ID. To imply that they don’t is racist.

  3. This is awful. If a voter has to show a govt. ID chances are that he/she won’t be able to vote more than once. How can any democrat ever win an election? Oy Vey!
