The historic Bikur Cholim and Sephardic Jewish Cemeteries of Seattle asked the city to help stop people from defacing headstones and from dumping drug paraphernalia and human waste among them.
The disgrace was blamed on drunkards and drug addicts who frequent the cemeteries on weekends. Families have spent $50,000 removing the refuse.
Seattle’s Homelessness Emergency Response said that the city was aware of the problems.
