Hot, Hot, Hot: AC Problem At Penn Station Makes For Warm Commute

penn-stationIt may be slightly cooler today, but those traveling through Penn Station are still feeling the heat.

Temperatures in the underground concourse hot 90 degrees Tuesday afternoon due to some problems with the air conditioning, prompting NJ TRANSIT to cross-honor tickets with PATH trains for the evening commute.

Amtrak’s Cliff Cole told WCBS 880 that workers began replacing the entire cooling system last week, but that it’s not completely up and running.

Giant fans have been placed throughout the station as a way to get cool air flowing.

Temperatures are expected to hit a high of 82 degrees today.
