hotIt’s a taste of summer before the Memorial Weekend. Today in the New York Tri-state area will be hot and humid, along with plenty of sun, courtesy of a high pressure system over our area. Temperatures will reach a high of 92, falling short of the record 95, but still higher than normal.

However, as CBS 2HD meteorologist John Elliott said, “there’s enough of a triggering mechanism with this heat and humidity to fire up a storm or two this afternoon, I think late, and into the evening. We will be watching that.”

Today’s chance of rain is 30-percent.

Thursday will see a greater chance for wet weather, as a low pressure system will arrive over the tri-state.

Something else to watch: the temperatures will drop going into the weekend. Shabbos will see a high almost 20 degrees less than Wednesday’s.

So if you want to enjoy a preview of summer, now’s your chance.
