trumpThe Huffington Post wants to be taken seriously as a news source, but the website has allowed its political biases to control its editorial decisions.

This past weekend, Ryan Grim, Washington bureau chief for The Huffington Post, and Danny Shea, Editorial Director of The Huffington Post, issued a statement making it clear that they will not treat Donald Trump like any of the other presidential candidates.

“After watching and listening to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president,” wrote Grim and Shea, “we have decided we won’t report on Trump’s campaign as part of The Huffington Post’s political coverage. Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section.”

What is the reason for this decision? Grim and Shea explain: “Our reason is simple: Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait.

“If you are interested in what The Donald has to say,” the Huff Post editors wrote, “you’ll find it next to our stories” on people of the entertainment world.
